Celeste Flores is a first-generation college graduate who was born and raised in Lake County by her Mexican immigrant parents. Professionally, Celeste is the Director of Community Building at Mano a Mano Family Resource Center. Celeste has also worked in the national environmental justice movement for the past decade, receiving numerous awards and recognitions, including being honored as Senator Duckworth’s State of the Union guest for Celeste’s national organizing work. Celeste is an elected member of the Warren Newport Library Board, currently serving as Vice President. Celeste graduated from Bellarmine University in Louisville, Kentucky with a Bachelor’s degree in History and a minor in Theology and resides in Gurnee.
